Founded in 1950, Greenhill School is an independent, coeducational day school with more than 1,400 students in grades pre-kindergarten-12. The school is located on a 78-acre campus approximately 12 miles north of downtown Dallas.

SUMMARY
The Associate Director of College Counseling is responsible for supporting/advising students and families through the college application/admission process and enhancing Greenhill's relationship with colleges and universities.
This position joins our team of four Directors of College Counseling, reporting to the Head of Upper School and supported by the College Counseling Coordinator. The Associate Director of College Counseling will advise approximately 27 students per class year, beginning in 10th grade, guiding students and families through the college search and application process.
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support to Students and Families
Provide counseling and support for students in their college application process and provide ongoing information to parents
Write counselor recommendation letters for approximately 27 seniors; prepare Greenhill’s supporting documents for colleges and scholarship organizations
Give feedback on students’ application essays and supplementary writings
Host informational events for students and parents: grade-level college nights, winter admission colloquium, financial aid series, Dallas College Previews fair, etc.
Use the MaiaLearning system to keep records and enhance lines of communication with students and parents
Liaison to College Admission Offices
Work with colleges’ admissions offices throughout the U.S. and internationally to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the college admission landscape and support our students as applicants
Participate in professional activities that support the goals of Greenhill and the College Counseling Office, such as conferences with NACAC, TACAC, College Board; travel to visit colleges and universities; etc.
Support to Administration and Faculty
Help prepare annual report presentation for Greenhill’s Board of Trustees
Counsel faculty and coaches on how to help students through the college selection process and how to write college recommendations.
Administration of AP & PSAT Testing
The College Counseling Office oversees the administration of all AP and PSAT testing, including communication with students and families, coordinating the testing facility and materials
Four years of experience in selective college admission and/or in a college counseling office in a school
