Tower School is an independent Beginners - 8th grade school located in Marblehead, MA. Position Overview:
Tower School is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School Science Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative faculty and play a key role in designing and implementing science lessons that bring scientific concepts to life while fostering curiosity and a love for discovery. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and committed to student-centered learning, while supporting students both in and out of the classroom to achieve success.
Teach and Inspire:
Ability to teach Earth and Environmental Science, Physical Science, or Biology while leveraging hands-on experiments to enhance understanding.
Foster a dynamic classroom environment where students feel challenged and supported in their learning.
Build Relationships:
Build meaningful connections with students, inspiring confidence, curiosity, and perseverance in scientific exploration.
Create a supportive environment where all students feel valued.
Innovate and Collaborate:
Incorporate project-based learning (PBL) rich with laboratory investigations, educational technology, and cross-curricular connections to create a dynamic and engaging classroom experience.
Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen program offerings.
Promote Inclusion:
Integrate diverse perspectives, cultural competency, and inclusive practices into lessons to ensure that all students feel valued and represented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a growth mindset in mathematics while fostering respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.
Write detailed, personalized progress reports and conduct conferences with parents/guardians.
Maintain open, supportive communication with students, families, and colleagues.
Participate in school life such as faculty meetings, professional development, collaborative team meetings, and community events.
Serve as a student advisor and participate in school events.
Support and contribute to school-wide diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts.
Coach a sport or lead an extracurricular activity (stipend available).
Working Conditions:
School-based position requiring in-person presence.
Must be able to perform the physical duties of a classroom teacher (standing, walking, occasional lifting, etc.).

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field and expertise in subject matter.
At least two years of teaching experience in upper elementary or middle school settings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing, forward-thinking math curriculum.
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience with curriculum development.
Background in student advising or extracurricular leadership.
Training or coursework in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
