Overview
The Kew-Forest School, a PS–12 coeducational day school in Forest Hills, NY, seeks an experienced IB PYP & Curriculum Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of a concept-driven, inquiry-based curriculum aligned with IB standards. This role partners with school leadership to advance faculty development, foster reflective practice, and ensure a coherent, transdisciplinary learning program across the Lower School.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of all Lower School curricular programs, ensuring alignment with IB PYP philosophy, standards, and best practices.
Mentor faculty in designing and delivering inquiry-based, concept-driven instruction through observation, coaching, and guidance on PYP frameworks.
Oversee the integration and effective use of instructional materials, technology, and educational platforms (e.g., Google Sites, IXL, Toddle) to enhance teaching and learning.
Maintain all IB PYP documentation and ensure compliance with IB Standards and Practices.
Monitor and assess curriculum effectiveness, student learning, and program outcomes, using data to inform continuous improvement.
Plan and lead professional development focused on PYP pedagogy, assessment, and transdisciplinary learning.
Facilitate collaboration among grade-level teams, specialists, and administration to ensure coherence and consistency across the Lower School.
Maintain accurate records of curriculum planning, assessment, and IB documentation, and support the Lower School administrative team as needed.
Qualifications and Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate
Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.
Deep knowledge of the IB PYP framework, with experience coordinating or leading PYP implementation.
Strong understanding of Lower School curricula, instructional programs, and educational technology platforms (e.g., Google Suite, IXL, Toddle).
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administration.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; proven capacity to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Commitment to maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting in alignment with IB standards.
Passion for inquiry-based, student-centered learning and fostering a culture of curiosity and agency.
Dedication to ongoing professional growth and staying current with best practices in IB PYP and elementary education.

SALARY RANGE
$35,000-$80,000 per annum, commensurate with years of experience and weekly hours.
