Job Description

Teachers at Summer at NCRC create a fun, engaging learning environment that nurtures the whole child and welcomes them to the NCRC community.  Teachers ensure their classroom promotes discovery, exploration, development, fun, and excitement.   The following outlines expectations for teachers at Summer at NCRC:

General

• Work cooperatively as a member of your teaching team
• Participate in all camp activities with a smile and a positive attitude
• Be on time and maintain a good attendance record
• Attend Summer at NCRC Orientation on June 8th
• Bring a solution-oriented attitude to all problems
• Maintain a positive, happy attitude toward all members of the NCRC community
• Report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs on any issues pertaining to the students or classroom

Classroom

• Engage happily and constructively with children. 
• Provide and maintain a classroom environment that helps children feel emotionally comfortable and safe
• Keep your classroom organized, clean and inviting; display children’s work; help keep all areas of the school looking nice
• Appropriately guide and redirect children as necessary over the course of the camp day

Curriculum

• Develop engaging, child centered, play based curriculum for summer fun and learning
• Provide art activities that emphasize the exploratory process rather than the product; minimize stencils and teacher-made cut-outs

Successful applicants will have;

• Experience teaching at the Early Childhood Level
• Availability for the entire 7 weeks of Summer at NCRC
• A minimum of a CDA. Bachelor’s degree preferred
• A happy, congenial nature
• An eagerness to join our vibrant community of learners and educators
