Learning Specialist
CGPS is seeking a full-time Learning Specialist to work one-on-one with students in grades 8-12 within the School’s Learning Resource Center.
Responsibilities
- Providing one-on-one, comprehensive, individualized academic support with the goals of developing effective strategies to compensate for learning weaknesses and the acquisition of self-advocacy skills
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, administrators, the Coordinator of the Learning Resource Center, and the Division Director on behalf of students
- Writing comprehensive semester reports and communicating effectively with parents and outside professionals
Work Hours
- 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
- Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30 pm
- Start date: September 1st, 2023
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $71,000 - $118,500. We offer exceptional benefits, and a warm and supportive culture.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Special Education
- Previous experience working with high school students with varied learning styles and disabilities, individually or in the classroom
- A solid working knowledge of the high school curriculum in all subject areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience reading and interpreting psycho-educational evaluations to identify student needs, strengths, and weaknesses
