Deerfield Academy Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their growing team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, and in collaboration with the HR Team, the Human Resources Generalist performs HR-related administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, employee relations, payroll and benefits, and employee training and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
Lead recruiting activities for non-exempt staff positions, and provide support for exempt-level recruitment as the Academy seeks, identifies, and retains a diverse body of employees; assist with the development and administration of effective employee onboarding programs; support supervisors and employees with communications, training, and coaching regarding policy interpretation and application; collaborate with the appropriate departments to manage internal and external Human Resources websites; serve as backup for payroll processing; assist with workers' compensation case management and unemployment claims; oversee I-9 recordkeeping and E-Verify; collaborate with HR leadership to develop and implement training programs; and collaborate with HR team members to address organizational needs, as well as initiating and participating in a variety of other HR-related projects.

Sign on Bonus - The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at the time of hire and $500 at the end of 90 days.)
The successful candidate will possess: a Bachelor’s Degree, 3-5 years’ HR Generalist experience, thorough knowledge of HR best practices and federal and state employment law; demonstrated knowledge of payroll processing and associated reporting; excellent data entry skills; excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; ability to work independently as well as part of a team; exceptional verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience with and/or the ability to learn an HRIS and talent management system, ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information.
