Early Childhood Educator
The River School educates children from 18 months through 5th grade and is known nationally for its inclusion program for children with hearing loss--15% of our students have a hearing loss. The River School uses a unique co-teaching model--it pairs a master's level educator and a speech-language pathologist (SLP) full time in every classroom. River also trains graduate students from across the country. A typical classroom teaching team includes the educator and SLP and a graduate student in either education or speech-language pathology. Class sizes are small allowing for strong teacher-student relationships and individualized teaching and learning.
