In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the enrollment team to oversee and enhance our divisional and schoolwide recruitment and enrollment events and programs, such as Open House, Information Evenings, and the Yield Event.
Your primary focus will be implementing innovative recruitment and retention strategies for our Beginning/Lower School and Upper School divisions. This includes organizing student visit days, conducting outreach to feeder schools, and hosting our family program. Additionally, you will serve as a vital support system, acting as a back-up for the school’s receptionist and providing essential administrative assistance to the Enrollment Management team.

A few of the role’s highlights include:
Event Planning and Execution: Plan and execute both virtual and in-person all-school recruitment and enrollment events, including Open House and the Yield Reception for admitted students, as well as manage divisional enrollment events for prospective families.
Budget and Program Management: Manage the budget for enrollment events, determine programmatic elements, and communicate effectively with constituents. Support Middle School enrollment events alongside the Assistant Director of Middle School Enrollment.
Student and Parent Volunteer Coordination: Oversee the US Student Ambassador Program by recruiting, training, and securing student ambassadors, and determine the best use of student and parent volunteers to ensure a positive and productive experience.
Shadow Days Management: Manage Upper School Shadow Days by recruiting, training, and securing student hosts, coordinating logistics, and ensuring a positive experience for visiting students. Support the Enrollment Management Admin Assistant in managing tours for all divisions.
Support and Administrative Duties: Assist in various enrollment programs such as the BLS Parent Ambassador Program, oversee logistics for visit days, manage prospect information in the student information system, and serve as a back-up to the Front Desk Administrative Assistant.
Salary: $59,700-$63,000/year
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
Minimum three years of experience managing events and/or projects in an education, non-profit, or business environment.
Experience in independent schools preferred - experience could be substituted by college or public schools' events administration.
Knowledge of enrollment practices and educational institutions, specifically independent schools and Portland metropolitan area schools is preferred.
Experience working with customers/clients and managing volunteers required.
Physical Requirements: Occasionally having to bend, squat, stoop, and kneel to assist with event set-ups & breakdowns, also moving or arranging items at events.
Lifting Requirements: Occasionally lift materials up to 30 pounds, such as: office supplies, A-frame signage, food, tables, linens, chairs, etc.

Catlin Gabel School is a coeducational, independent day school located on 54 acres in the West Hills neighborhood of Portland, Oregon formed in 1957 by the merger of the Catlin Hillside School, which had been founded as Miss Catlin’s School in 1911, and the Gabel Country Day School, whose roots extend to 1859 with the founding of The Portland Academy.
