Humanities (English and History) Teacher
Nazareth Prep, a leading private college preparatory school, seeks a skilled Humanities Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. In this pivotal role, you will:
Champion Literacy Excellence:
Develop and deliver a comprehensive curriculum for a range of AP courses, including AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP US History, AP World History, and AP Human Geography, leveraging the school's adopted curriculum and assigned texts (supplementation encouraged).
Foster a love of learning that prioritizes sophisticated reading and writing skills.
Guide students to craft cogent arguments supported by compelling evidence and employ critical thinking frameworks.
Cultivate a mastery of language that empowers students to express themselves with clarity and confidence, exceeding expectations on AP exams and beyond.
Nurture a Pathway to Advanced Studies: Scaffold younger students towards AP Language and AP Seminar by introducing analytical frameworks for analyzing complex literature and nonfiction prose.
Challenge and Inspire:
Design engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that push students beyond their perceived limitations within a supportive and respectful classroom environment.
Be a demanding yet encouraging mentor, providing students with clear expectations, constructive feedback, and personalized guidance that fuels academic growth.
Utilize differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students, ensuring each individual has the opportunity to excel at grade level and in advanced work.
Uphold the highest standards of the AP program, offering rigorous content that ignites intellectual curiosity and fosters a passion for lifelong learning.

Communicate openly and effectively with parents regarding student progress in academics, social interactions, and internships.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in English, History, Geography, or a related field, with a Master's Degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience teaching Humanities at the high school level in a rigorous academic environment.
A proven track record of success in preparing students for Advanced Placement exams is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Must meet Act 33/34 and FBI clearance requirements, possess a driver's license, and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
