The Windward School is looking for an Associate Director of Development for our Manhattan campus. This position will partner with the CAO and peers at the two Westchester locations to co-author and execute a comprehensive and multi- channeled development program including major gifts, annual fund, special events, parent engagement and special initiatives to meet annual fundraising goals of $3.15M across all campuses in support of our mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with peers at other campuses, creates and supports a structured and strategic approach to development initiatives to reach or exceed fundraising goals.
Is a direct solicitor and routinely identifies prospects, cultivates, solicits and stewards gifts of $10K and
Identifies and solicits individual and corporate sponsorships, and items for the silent and live auction, for the biennial Benefit, and ensures a successful event through attendance and
Supports alumni engagement efforts through the Alumni Office, helping to promote opportunities and events for both alumni and alumni parents in the Manhattan community.
Fosters authentic relationships with key constituents, attends Windward Parents Association meetings, builds relationships with parent volunteers and supports engagement efforts. Becomes an active member of the Manhattan community, attending events and
Guides and supports the work of a Development Associate who works as the Manhattan liaison for the Windward Parents Association and assists with the Windward Fund.
Collaborates with the Development team to develop strategic and innovative ways to nurture a culture of philanthropy in the
Using data as a guide, develops and executes annual development work plans, oversees plan adherence and monitors KPIs. Routinely provides reports and analysis for efficacy of
Ensures superior donor acknowledgement and stewardship practices to keep donors positively affiliated to and aligned with the
Oversees the budget for Development expenses in Manhattan.
Works in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team to elevate visibility and reputation of the Manhattan campus and the
Specific Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
8+ years fundraising experience
Proven track record of securing major gifts
Fundraising experience in the New York City metro area
Management experience
Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or similar database and data analytics
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
CFRE credentialing a plus
Requires work to be performed in-person, occasional evening and weekend hours
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000
