Job Summary
Through intentional collaboration, effective communication, and attention to the latest in tech development, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall planning, organization, integration, implementation, and maintenance of all IT functions at the school, including, but not limited to campus infrastructure, software usage, and faculty / staff onboarding.
The Director of Information Technology will be someone with outstanding tactful written and oral communication skills that excels at collaboration by being amicable, flexible, and considerate of shared goals while both modeling and maintaining professionalism between all interpersonal relationships as they relate to the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the coordination, security, and efficiency of the IT infrastructure, including the network, hardware and devices, software, cloud platforms, firewall, databases, and servers
Manage, install, and maintain inventory of all hardware, including desktops, laptops, tablets, document cameras, projectors, network devices, printers, and other technology equipment
Manage vendor relations, procurement, installation, and implementation of information systems
Develop and manage the school’s computer/device operating and IT budget
Manage faculty, staff, and student user accounts across multiple platforms
Assess and respond to IT needs as voiced by faculty, administration, and staff
Plan and supervise internal and external training of the school’s faculty and staff
Train users in all aspects of technology– both hardware and software– usage across campus as needed, including, but not limited to Google Suite, Alma, Alma Start, Wordpress, and others
Develop documentation, policies, and procedures for all technology usage between faculty, staff, and students
Maintain Google Workspace, SIS, and other cloud platforms
Report to committees and the Board of Trustees
Secure, back up, and consolidate data systems and information
Develop a strategic and long-range technology plan for the school, including proposals and projects for improving IT infrastructure
Identify, evaluate, and recommend new and emerging technologies for classroom and administrative uses
Develop and maintain the school’s databases and internal and external networks
Remain current on new developments in the areas of software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training, and maintenance
Assume responsibility for other projects as assigned by the head of school
Participate in School activities including chaperoning and participating in field trips, service days, and field days.

Salary Range
$73,000-$75,000

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of Mac OS, Chrome OS, and Windows
Strong knowledge of mobile device management platforms (Apple, Chrome, Windows devices)
Experience with network management platforms and network security
Experience maintaining and configuring student information systems
Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Azure
Experience training users of various skill levels
5+ years of previous work experience in the IT field
Physical Requirements
This position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting, and climbing stairs whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement, such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. This position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer and other business machines.
