Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, has an immediate opening for a Database Manager in its busy Development Office. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The Database Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Development Office database (Raiser’s Edge and NXT) and will work to keep files and records current and accurate at all times. The Database Manager works with the Development team to achieve long-term development, capital, and annual giving goals. This is a 12-month, 40-hour a week, hybrid position.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Serve as the System Administrator for the database by acting as primary liaison between Calvert, Blackbaud, and GiveCampus.
- Enter gifts, verify gift designations, and generate receipts and acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate totals and reports on gift revenue, including the Annual Report.
- Conduct prospect research on major gift prospects.
- Organize efficient system for receiving and processing gifts, matching gifts, and pledges.
- Produce and run timely and accurate reports, as requested.
- Collaborate with colleagues throughout campus, including the Business Office.
- Oversee and maintain email distribution groups.
- Other work-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years’ experience in database management. A successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work with independence in dealing with the diverse elements of the academic environment. This position requires absolute confidentiality and professionalism. Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Proficiency in NXT is preferred.
