Gifft Hill School in beautiful St. John, USVI is looking for an outstanding Secondary Math and Science Teacher who can live our mission and vision by providing dynamic, experiential instruction that supports students with a range of learning styles and readiness levels; within a climate that fosters a love of learning, mutual respect, and the importance of personal responsibility. A preferred candidate will have experience teaching upper level math and/or chemistry and physics at the high school level and be comfortable teaching students in grades 9-12. This position may include courses such as Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. Candidates must demonstrate experience and expertise in using differentiated instructional practices and positive, proactive classroom management strategies. S/he will demonstrate the capacity to teach in an interdisciplinary manner, to collaborate effectively with specialists, and to maintain a high standard of record keeping and personalized communication with parents. With the island as our classroom, teachers who seek to build a school community rich in rigorous academics and daily experiences of discovery, and who can model adaptability and teamwork for their students will be a wonderful match to this position.
