The successful candidate should be a dynamic educator with elementary classroom teaching experience, and possess a strong foundation in current educational practices, an ability to use innovative and flexible pedagogical strategies appropriate to a variety of learners, superb classroom management, and be adept at integrating technology into the curriculum. The ideal candidate should value ongoing professional growth and a highly collaborative working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach a differentiated and integrated academic and social-emotional curriculum
- Develop and assess curriculum in collaboration with faculty and education administrators to meet and surpass Common Core standards, JDS goals, and current trends in education
- Assess student learning and communicate student growth to families through formal and informal reports and conferences
- Create and maintain positive partnerships with students and families
- Provide regular communication to families through weekly newsletters and informal methods
- Apply developmentally appropriate approaches for classroom management to create a respectful, engaging and vibrant classroom learning community
- Engage in professional development with faculty and staff and actively seek professional learning and current trends in education
- Participate in school life including admission, development, and community events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Teaching Certification
- Experience teaching elementary school
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team of highly motivated, enthusiastic teachers
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Proficient classroom technology skills
- Committed to on-going professional growth and development
- Flexible, passionate, creative, dedicated and collaborative
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training and expertise in inquiry-based learning, Responsive Classroom, and Reading and Writing Workshop models
