As part of the academic support structure at Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, we are often in the position of referring students to professional tutors. We are seeking skilled professional tutors in a variety of subject areas to work with Middle School students. The highest subject demand for tutoring is in math and executive functioning skills (helping students manage their homework and track homework deadlines). There is an occasional need for tutors to support students with writing and reading comprehension skills. Tutoring sessions are held weekly and are 50 minutes in duration. Tutoring takes place primarily after school and in the evening. Tutoring sessions are being held in person at Lakeside Middle School between 3:30-5:50 pm or online. We are committed to inclusion and equity and looking to have a diverse pool of outside tutors. If you are interested in being considered for inclusion in this Referral Database, please apply here.

Successful candidates will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated content competence and educational and/or tutoring experience with middle and/or upper school students.

To learn more about working at Lakeside, including our professional development and mentoring programs, benefits, diversity and inclusion, and opportunities for involvement in non-academic programs, please visit our Careers page on the Lakeside School website.
Equity in hiring: According to various studies, women and people of color are more likely to not apply for a job if they see themselves as not meeting every requirement of the posting, which means employers miss meeting potentially ideal candidates.
