Responsibilities include working in collaboration with Administrators and teachers to
deliver interactive learning programs designed to engage and educate young children.
Our curriculum is based on inquiry and hands-on lessons that excite the student and
cultivate life-long learning. To excel in this role, the candidate must demonstrate
excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as in-depth knowledge of
classroom activities and teaching methods.

Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in elementary education
-State certification is preferred
-Experience with Orton-Gillingham and Wilson method preferred
-Experience in technology use in the classroom
-A minimum of two years of experience as a teaching assistant or similar role
-Solid understanding of classroom activities and best practices in teaching
-Must have a compassionate and positive attitude
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities
-Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including a booster if eligible, is strongly
recommended for employment at Lancaster Country Day School
Responsibilities:
-Carry full teaching load
-Desire to be part of building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable classroom
learning environment.
-Work collaboratively with a team of teachers
-Lesson preparation for the whole, small and individual groups of students
-Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes,
lunch, and on-field excursions
-Track children’s progress and report to parents
-Communicate with parents regularly
-Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings
-Collaborate closely with other faculty members (departmental, grade-level, and
school-wide) to align curriculum across subjects, to improve one’s own and
others’ instructional practices, and to share best practices
-Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students from
a widerange of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds. Participate actively in professional development activities.
-Serve as a facilitator of an enrichment activity once a week after school
-Perform other related duties as required and assigned
