HIGH SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS POSITION:
The Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, an independent, International school located in Manhattan’s Financial District, seeks a highly qualified, motivated art educator to serve as a full-time high school Visual Arts teacher.
The school seeks candidates who will offer an engaging, challenging, and diverse art program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to fostering an inclusive learning community.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching various high school art electives including Studio Art, Digital Photography, and Mixed Media/Digital Design classes
- Serving as an advisor in our high school advisory program
- Producing an annual High School Art exhibition in collaboration with other Visual Arts teachers
- Organizing and coordinating student submissions for art shows and competitions
- Being a collaborative, contributing team member of the Fine Arts Department as well as the Upper School faculty
- Supporting and sponsoring activities/events outside the typical work day
- Growing professionally in order to meet the changing responsibilities of the position
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- Experience in teaching High School students
- Experience in teaching introductory to advanced level Studio Art and Digital Arts courses
- Familiarity with curriculum design
- Ability to work well as part of a team
