The Lower School is seeking dynamic candidates for a full time Lead Teacher position for Third Grade. Applicants should have relevant teaching experience. Candidates having familiarity with Responsive Classroom, Singapore Math (Math in Focus), and Content Area Literacy. Classroom teachers are responsible for teaching Math, Social Studies, and Words Their Way Spelling Program. Knowledge of Reading and Writing Workshop is desired.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. An advanced degree is strongly desired. The successful candidate will have excellent rapport with and knowledge of elementary students and enjoy working with them in a variety of school activities in addition to classroom teaching. We seek candidates with expertise in providing students active, hands-on experiences that incorporate digital media technology. Candidates should have a growth mindset and an openness to collaborating with grade-partners and colleagues. They should have an interest in supporting students' development of the necessary academic, social, and attitudinal skills to achieve 21st-Century leadership. Candidates should be ready to engage in helping the school to achieve its goal of being an anti-racist institution with broad DEIJB goals. Familiarity with Quaker education is a plus.
