North Shore Country Day, a progressive, academically rigorous, co-ed, JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks candidates for a lower school assistant teacher opening for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Candidates should be at the start of their teaching career and have a desire to support, work collaboratively with and be mentored by experienced educators. Additionally, we seek candidates who have a demonstrable passion for the development of lower school age students as individuals and learners. A bachelor’s degree is required. North Shore is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities.
The role will include assisting in both homerooms (instructional areas include literacy, mathematics, and social studies as well as the social/emotional curriculum) and supporting the work of the lead teachers and the broader school through other duties such as covering recess and lunch duties, coaching, and advising a co-curricular program.
