After Care Assistant
Open Window School is looking for one person to join our after-school program for the 2022-23 school year (August 23, 2022- June 21, 2023). We encourage you to apply if you love working with school-age children and have energy, attention to detail, empathy, flexibility, initiative, the ability to collaborate, and have a commitment to teamwork. To be successful, you will enjoy working with students of various ages, maintain regular attendance, be punctual, and dependable. You will report to the Auxiliary Programs Director.
Requirements include:
- Experience working with elementary school students (preferred)
- Well qualified candidates will have completed courses towards earning, or have earned, an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the after-school care program for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students.
- Ensuring that there is a diverse group of activities for students to choose from.
- Providing After-School Program Coordinator with regular feedback regarding students in the program.
- Acting as a liaison with parents.
- Supervise student play outside in various kinds of weather.
- Working with the After-School Program Coordinator in ordering supplies for the After Care Program.
- Planning daily snacks and monitoring supply.
- Organizing and maintaining the After Care areas.
- Following behavioral and safety policies in alignment with school policies.
- Working with the After-School Program Coordinator and Auxiliary Programs Director to ensure all components of the after-school program follow appropriate school guidelines.

- Build students’ confidence and self-esteem as you come to know them as learners and individuals.
- Practice and model respect for individual differences.
- Encourage the development of shared community values, such as honesty, kindness and respect.
- Maintain a cordial, flexible, and professional relationship with colleagues and Open Window parents.
- Maintain current First Aid/CPR qualifications (Open Window will pay for training).
Schedule and Hours:
Monday – Friday, 3:00- 6:00* PM = 15 hours per week
*may occasionally require staying later if a parent is late to pick up their child
Start Date: August 23, 2022
Compensation:
This is a non-exempt position. Compensation will be $23 per hour.
