Ransom Everglades School is seeking applications for a full time Head of Strength and Conditioning, beginning August 1, 2022. The Head Coach coordinates all aspects of the Ransom Everglades sports performance (strength and conditioning) program. The Head Coach oversees development and implementation of year-round sports performance programs for all Ransom Everglades sports teams. The Head Coach collaborates with sport coaches and the head athletic trainer in an effort to prevent, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries. The Head of Strength and Conditioning ensures compliance with appropriate NFHS and FHSAA bylaws and guidelines, and NSCA best practices. Additional duties assigned depend on the experience and interests of the candidate. Ransom Everglades School spans two campuses that include two gymnasiums, two turf fields, an Aquatic Center, fitness rooms on both campuses, training facilities on both campuses, and several off-campus competition venues for baseball, softball, track and field, golf, and tennis. A professional coaching staff is composed of Ransom Everglades faculty members and other experienced coaches in their respective sports. Most Ransom Everglades students are on at least one athletic team, and many play more than one sport.
Ransom Everglades is seeking candidates with strong communication skills and a passion for working with students. Work hours are flexible depending on the athletics schedule and season; candidates must be prepared to make a commitment to varying time needs of the position. Applications must have at least a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must be NSCA CSCS certified. Up to date CPR, First Aid, and AED certification are required, or must be applied for in Florida immediately upon hiring. Physical Requirements include the ability to respond to emergencies, respond quickly to sounds, move safely over wet, uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and see and respond to dangerous situations.
