Objective: To support student success by providing health care through assessment and intervention for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess student health complaints and administer medications.
- Provide direct care to students for injuries and acute illness and long-term management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, etc..
- Collaborate with parents/guardians and students’ healthcare providers to ensure emergency healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions are in place and communicated to the appropriate individuals such as the student’s teachers, coaches, trip leaders, etc.
- Maintain and ensure confidential communication and documentation of student health information and clinical records.
- Provide screenings and referrals for health conditions.
- Promote a healthy school environment by monitoring immunizations, ensuring appropriate isolation for students with infectious illnesses, and reporting communicable diseases as required by law.
- Serve as a resource to faculty and administrators on health education topics such as nutrition, exercise, tobacco prevention and cessation, oral health, infectious diseases, substance use and abuse, and immunizations.
- Collaborate with the CFO and Program Directors in the development and evaluation of school health policies.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to address student health care needs.
- Stay current on trends and best practices in student health and nursing.
- Take an active role in professional activities and attend relevant professional meetings and conferences.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional school environment. Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting and standing, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with responsibilities from August 14 – June 14. Days of work are Monday through Friday with holidays and breaks following the School calendar.
Qualifications:
- MAT certification.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to carry out duties and responsibilities confidentially and in an accurate and timely manner with a high degree of autonomy, personal initiative and ownership, and minimal direction.
- Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner that reflects that values of the school.
- Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, administrators, parents/guardians, alumni, and guests.
- Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
