Starting Date: December 2, 2024 Job Description: Robotics Assistant Coach
The Cambridge School of Weston seeks an assistant coach for its Robotics team. Responsibilities will include assisting the student-led team and fellow adult coach with preparation for the first Robotics competition in March. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, values progressive education, builds rapport with students, and has experience in differentiating and working in multiple modalities. Applicants should be well-versed in culturally responsive teaching practices and be interested in further developing their cultural competencies and equity literacy skills. Applicants must also be interested and adept in interacting with adolescents through an anti-racist lens. In addition to these qualifications, our ideal candidate values collaboration among colleagues in our vibrant, art-infused school.
Specific Responsibilities for This Position Include:
Coaching our Robotics team daily from 3:15 pm - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday from December 2, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
Attend, supervise, and chaperone two weekend Robotics competitions
Skills and Qualifications:
Interest and experience in Engineering and Mathematics.
A continued passion and desire to learn
Knowledge of computer programming and experience with Robotics mechanics
Strong interest in working with adolescents
Ability to effectively collaborate with others
Strong interpersonal communication skills for interaction with students, staff, and parents
