About this position
The Director of Development and School Events is an exempt employee that reports to the Head of School and is on the administrative leadership team. This is a year-round position, although it could be negotiated to a school-year schedule. We are looking to hire for a December 1st or January 3rd start date.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success with annual fundraising and, ideally, capital campaigns
- Experience planning and executing events from conception to completion
- Experience working with donor database software and Excel
- An ability to work collaboratively with a small administrative team
- An interest in mastering the given job and then building systems to make it your own
- An appreciation for working with children and families
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the school's annual giving campaign, which includes an annual gala
- Organize 7-8 annual school events, such as homecoming and grandparents’ day, in collaboration with the administrative team. Our events vary in size, but attract around 200 people
- Create the annual report in partnership with the business office
- Manage the donor database and analytics
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni and parents
- Create copy for internal and external communications
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or the Director of Finance and Operations
