The Assistant Director of Admissions will work alongside the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management to represent Galloway in the community. They must be an effective and energetic communicator of the philosophy and mission of the school, who can also communicate clearly to all faculty & staff and prospective families with superb verbal and written communication skills. The Assistant Director will be a master communicator who can vividly tell our story and make known the value proposition of a Galloway educational experience to any size group in the school or Atlanta community.
The Assistant Director will be an essential part of the recruitment of prospective families. Working closely with faculty and staff, they will plan and execute admissions events for both prospective and current families. This person will be a team player and thought partner to the Director. The Assistant Director should possess a confident and outgoing personality and the ability to work well with many types of people in many types of environments.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as an ambassador for the school; communicate the unique value proposition and distinctive qualities/characteristics of the school to prospective students and families
- Play a visible role in welcoming and integrating new families at school events and activities
- Partner with the Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management to design and implement recruitment and outreach initiatives to meet goals, represent the school at admission events and school fairs, school visits, and off-campus events
- Understand issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion within an independent school context and work to advance DEI within the admissions and enrollment process
- Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the academic and cocurricular programming at Galloway
- Develop, assist, and execute admissions events, tours, and recruiting events in person and/or virtually
- Collaborate with the Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management and the Marketing and Communications Office to create, design, and deliver the marketing and communication collateral and plans for the Admissions Office
- Collaboratively work with other members of the Admissions team and school community to support the overall function of the department
- Manage and support admissions projects as they occur, including analyzing surveys, managing database and admissions files; coordinating and training student and parent volunteers for admission events and tours
- Deliver dynamic presentations; lead school tours; speak to groups of prospective students and families, and other constituents

- Respond promptly to all calls and emails from prospective and current Galloway families providing extraordinary customer service

- Have genuine support of the Galloway mission, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Admissions
- Prior experience with/proficiency in Blackbaud and Ravenna software programs is strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically to all staff and prospective families with superb verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exhibit sensitivity, discretion, and a sense of humor
- Process confidential/sensitive information with discretion and in accordance with established guidelines or legal standards
- Utilize data to inform strategic planning
- A sensitivity and awareness of economic, cultural, and other considerations present in the enrollment of a diverse student body
