Overview
The Kew-Forest School is a co-educational independent day school located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York that serves a diverse population of approximately 185 students in Preschool (3-year-olds) through Grade 12. Founded in 1918, Kew-Forest is the longest-serving college preparatory school in Queens. Our community nurtures lifelong learners, our educators inspire young people, and our students support each other.
The School is currently looking for a Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach for the upcoming winter season, starting November 1st. The winter season is scheduled to consist of 10-12. (Not including postseason) Kew-Forest participates in the Private School Athletic Association (PSAA).
Candidates must:
be available between the hours of 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm for practice and as early as 2:00 pm for travel to away games.
be available to travel on the bus with student-athletes to away games
Responsibilities include:
being responsible for running practices (minimum 4 times/week; max 2 hours each).
teaching/guiding student-athletes in proper basketball techniques/strategy.
remain open to adding non-league games to the schedule when appropriate.
communicating with the team, parents, and Athletic Director with any changes/cancellations of practices and games.
ensuring all student-athletes have means of transportation to and from games.
attending all basketball coaches meetings led by PSAA (if any).
providing team updates to the Athletic Director.
responsible for completing required course upon hire (e.g, CPR, mandated reporter, etc)
Compensation
A stipend between $2,000- $4,000 will be offered based on experience.
