The Northwest School is a college-preparatory, co-educational independent day/boarding school near the heart of downtown Seattle. We offer a rich and challenging program to about 450 students in grades 6 through 12, including international students, many of whom are part of our residential program.

The Middle School Director is responsible for the overall direction and operation of the Middle School, grades 6-8. This position reports to the Head of School, serves on the Senior Leadership Team, and shares responsibility for setting the direction and tone for the Middle School.
This is a full-time, 12 months per year Administrator position beginning July 1, 2023.
Minimum Qualifications:
All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; environmental sustainability, and global perspective.
A commitment to a learning and working culture where all community members feel seen, valued, and heard.
A bachelors degree and seven years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the jobs essential functions are required.
Ability to communicate effectively with large groups, as well as in writing.
A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Masters degree is preferred.
Experience in a school with international students.

Compensation:
Salary is highly competitive with top independent schools in the region and commensurate with education and experience. Salary range is $125,000 - $145,000 annually based on skills and qualifications.
