Fellows are expected to:
- Co-teach up to two sections of a class with a longstanding Phelps teacher.
- Independently teach up to three sections of a class with support from their mentor and department chair.
- Coach two trimesters of a sport/activity.
- Serve as a Dorm Parent and lead weekend activities.
Applicants should:
- Expect to graduate with a B.A. or B.S. no later than July 1, 2023 either in Education or in another subject with coursework in Education.
- Have experience in an educational setting, either through a work study or as a teaching assistant.
- Be an outgoing, energetic person ready to take part in all aspects of life at a boarding school.
Fellows are expected to remain in the position for two years with the possibility of transitioning to a traditional teaching role following the end of their Fellowship. Fellows will be offered housing throughout the year but will be free during the summer to pursue additional internship, educational, or employment opportunities. Please send a letter of interest, a resume or C.V., and a letter of reference to employment@thephelpsschool.org.
