Search for the Executive Director, Performing Arts
The Rivers School & The Rivers School Conservatory
Weston, Massachusetts
The Rivers School (Rivers) and The Rivers School Conservatory (RSC) seek an exceptional leader who is passionate about performing arts education to serve as their next Executive Director of Performing Arts. Serving as the chief administrator of the Rivers School Conservatory community music school, the Executive Director also has strategic and administrative oversight of the performing arts department at the Rivers School. A savvy and intentional collaborator with exceptional interpersonal skills, the Executive Director of Performing Arts will strengthen the bridge between Rivers and the RSC to create a culture that promotes a unifying vision of these two entities as One Rivers. As the champion for all performing arts across campus, the Executive Director of Performing Arts will promote a performing arts education in alignment with the school’s mission of “preparing students for leadership in a world that needs their talents, creativity, intellect, and compassion” and grounded in the school’s philosophy of Excellence with Humanity.
With the Rivers School Conservatory marking its 50th anniversary in 2025 and The Rivers School preparing to embark upon a new strategic plan, this is an auspicious time for a new Executive Director of Performing Arts to join the campus community. The Executive Director will lead a broad portfolio to enhance connection and collaboration across the renowned RSC community musical school and the Rivers School’s rich performing arts programs. At RSC, the Executive Director will develop and execute strategies to further the RSC’s mission of cultivating exceptional musicianship through performance and mentorship; oversee programming and curricular offerings; maintain a collaborative and supportive environment for faculty; enhance enrollment pipelines; grow relationships in and beyond the Metro-West Boston community; and partner in expanding philanthropic support. Working with the new Head of School at Rivers, the Executive Director will also help shape the vision for an eventual new performing arts center.
The Rivers School has retained Isaacson, Miller, a national executive search firm, to assist in this search. All inquiries, nominations, and applications should be submitted electronically and in strict confidence to Elizabeth Weithman, Katie Rockman, Stephen Kalogeras, and Mindy Cimini, at Isaacson, Miller.
