The Assistant Director of The Sage Center for Global Education and Inclusion will work with the Sage Center Director to provide vision and leadership in the development of innovative and integrated curriculum through the lens of the Six Cs and to advance the School’s work in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. The Assistant Director of The Sage Center for Global Education and Inclusion will also be responsible for development and oversight of the Spring at Sage program. This is a year-round position.
Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Work closely with the Sage Center Director in continuing to develop an innovative, integrated and dynamic Spring at Sage program that is mission aligned
Partner with the Sage Center Director to create and implement DEI initiatives alongside the Sage Center team.
Ensure Spring at Sage programming upholds the highest standards of DEI practice in its intent and implementation.
Develop an innovative and dynamic curriculum for all aspects of Spring at Sage through the lens of the Six Cs and the Sage Center Vision
Teach or co-teach two sections in the Upper School
Regularly assess the effectiveness of the Spring at Sage curriculum and programs
Supervise the creation, marketing, budgeting and programmatic/personnel oversight for Spring at Sage
Serve as the on-site Sage Hill School representative for all Spring at Sage travel
Communicate Spring at Sage program expectations to all constituencies
Work with the Business Office in developing risk management protocols and incorporate them in the proposal and planning process of the Spring at Sage program
Develop strategies to assess student growth and engagement with the Spring at Sage program
Provide training and support for Sage Hill students to appropriately participate in both local and global experiences in a culturally competent manner
Fulfill community support responsibilities as assigned
Advise a group of students and as a Sage Center member, must participate in service learning as a Junior class advisor
Manage the field trip request process, budget, and logistics with guidance from the Assistant Head of School for Academics.
Serve as an Affinity Group Facilitator
All other duties as assigned by the Sage Center Director.
Supervisory responsibilities: Faculty, staff and students under the Spring at Sage programs
Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. Degree in appropriate field, M.A or M.S. preferred
Accomplished teacher with 5+ years of teaching experience who has demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, assessment methodology, and experiential learning
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Experience in independent schools preferred
Strong desire to work collaboratively with all constituencies of the school
