The Savannah Country Day School is seeking math teacher candidates for a long-term substitute position starting in January/February 2025. This faculty member will teach five (5) math classes, including AP AB Calculus. Standard duties for this position include the preparation of course objectives and outlines for course of study in conjunction with the Department Chair following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the school. Qualified candidates should have a passion for helping students to explore mathematics using a variety of pedagogical techniques. All Upper School teachers have a homeroom and advisory.

Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in a classroom or office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or carries objects of a light-medium weight, up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field, as well as five (5) or more years of teaching experience. Advanced degrees are strongly preferred.
Ability to teach a range of math courses, from Algebra 1 and Geometry to Calculus.
Strong sense of humor, flexibility, and a strong desire to work with teens is required.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to function as part of the Math Department team is desired.
Attendance at evening and weekend functions is occasionally required.
