Horizons at Tower Hill School seeks qualified, talented, dynamic and enthusiastic educators for the positions of Lead and Assistant teachers during the 2023 six-week summer program. The Horizons teachers will collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and Executive Director to provide instruction and support for students and assist with the educational and operational needs of the first Horizons program in Delaware.
Horizons at Tower Hill School provides a six-week, full day educational enrichment summer session designed to encourage students from diverse, limited income and resource populations to realize their full potential. We are committed to the development of the whole child through experiences that build problem solving skills, foster awareness of community responsibility, instill respect for others, and encourage a life-long interest in learning. Horizons blends high-quality academics with arts, athletics, enrichment, and confidence-building activities, including a special focus on the important life skill of swimming.
During the summer of 2023, Horizons at Tower Hill will have two classes of 15 students each who have completed Kindergarten. A lead and assistant teacher are placed in each classroom in addition to Upper School student volunteers. Teachers are able to design a project-based curriculum and integrate learning strategies that address the individual needs of the students.
The dates for the 2023 Horizons program are June 26th through August 4th with July 4th as a program holiday. The program meets daily, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 am until 3:30 pm. Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers are expected to honor the full time, six-week commitment and teacher orientation dates.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and a teaching certification is required for Lead Teachers and highly recommended for Assistant Teachers
- Lead Teachers are required to have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Assistant teachers are required to have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience or a student teaching experience
- Complete all state and federal clearances and be CPR/AED certified
