Xavier High School seeks a Computer Science/Technology teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

Xavier High School is searching for a motivated and collaborative teacher to join our mission driven team of educators. As a Xavier faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching talented young men from diverse backgrounds and means to take responsibility, lead with integrity, act justly, serve others, and pursue excellence in an academically rigorous, Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory environment in New York City. Your responsibilities will include lesson planning, classroom management, grading assignments, evaluating students’ progress, curriculum development and co-curricular leadership.

The ideal candidate should be a competent professional with in-depth knowledge of the
subject matter, an openness to growth, a commitment to the art and craft of teaching, and an understanding of professional boundaries and appropriate conduct. In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, an attractive candidate will also meet the following criteria.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field,
• 5+ years of teaching experience preferred,
• Ability to code in HTML, CSS, and Javascript,
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint,
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar 3D software (SolidWorks, Blender,
  Fusion 360, Rhino 3D),
• Ability to operate and maintain 3D printers, laser cutters and other equipment
  in a prototyping environment,
• Excellent presentation skills,
• Strong organizational and classroom management abilities,
• Developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a team
  environment,
• Enthusiasm for the work of education in a Catholic, Jesuit context
  
  

We are looking for a full-time Computer Science/Technology teacher to teach coding and potentially other technology classes beginning in September. Competitive salary is commensurate with experience.
