Aidan Montessori School, located in Woodley Park, Washington DC, is accepting applications for interim School Nurse. This position runs from August 21, 2023 to January 12, 2024 while our current Nurse is on maternity leave. Hours on site are (minimally) Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
General Duties:
- Provide support to all children as health issues arise, including potential administration of emergency medications.
- Oversee school policies and procedures in regard to the health needs of our community.
- Assist in reviewing students’ required health forms before school starts, and as they expire throughout the school year.
- Liaise between teachers, parents, health care providers, and the administration.
- Documenting interactions with students through Magnus Health, and the school’s Incident and Illness Report Forms.
- Any other duties as called upon which may include activities such as assisting in classrooms and with school arrival/dismissal.
Applicants Must:
- Be a Registered Nurse, licensed in DC.
- Enjoy working with children and families.
- Be up-to-date on Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
- Be ready to engage in facets of school life beyond nursing.
