This is an opportunity for an educator who believes deeply in the power of mathematics to shape critical thinking, confidence, and curiosity—and who is excited to teach and mentor adolescents in a highly relational boarding school environment.
At Berkshire, math teachers do far more than deliver content. They build meaningful relationships with students, collaborate closely with colleagues, and contribute actively to a vibrant residential community. The ideal candidate will bring both strong mathematical expertise and genuine enthusiasm for helping students see themselves as capable, creative problem-solvers.

Thrives in collaboration and values shared problem-solving with colleagues
Embraces innovation, including the thoughtful use of educational and emerging technologies
Supports and challenges students across varied learning styles, identities, and abilities
Reflects on their practice with humility and a commitment to continuous growth
Sees teaching as part of a larger commitment to student life and community engagement

Design lessons that emphasize conceptual understanding, multiple representations, and real-world application
Assess student learning thoughtfully and provide timely, constructive feedback
Participate fully in departmental collaboration and curriculum development
Community Engagement
Full-time members of the faculty are deeply engaged in the life of the School and contribute to Berkshire’s academic, afternoon, and residential programs. Responsibilities include:
Serving as a student advisor
Participating in two seasons of afternoon athletics or co-curricular programming (as a coach or program director)
Living in a dormitory or serving as an adjunct residential faculty member
Contributing to committee work and broader school initiatives
Qualifications
