School & Position Summary The mission of Brooks School is to provide the most meaningful educational experience our students will have in their lives. Established in 1926 in the town of North Andover, Brooks provides an all-gender, college preparatory program for 350 students on a 270-acre campus overlooking Lake Cochichewick. Brooks seeks a Quantitative Strategies Specialist to work in the Learning Center for the 2025-2026 academic year. This part-time faculty position will include working with students, individually or in groups, for 8–12 hours per week. We are especially interested in candidates who are skilled in culturally responsive educational practices and who are committed to fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging.
Essential Functions & Key Objectives The successful candidate will: ? Work with students to develop strategies for quantitative learning, encouraging them to build independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills. ? Partner with members of the mathematics and science departments to understand the curriculum and proactively develop support plans for students. ? Multitask and work with several students at a time, possibly on different areas of content, while being flexible and adapting to the needs of each student. ? Focus conversations on how students learn mathematics and complete quantitative assignments. ? Create a safe, inclusive space where students feel valued, understood, and empowered to take academic risks. ? Be passionate about helping students overcome learning challenges and develop self-efficacy through relationship building, differentiated instruction, and encouragement. ? Use humor and active listening to connect with students. ? Draw on deep and broad knowledge of mathematics content through precalculus. ? Display expertise in using and helping others use effective instructional practices. ? Demonstrate a growth mindset and a commitment to ongoing learning about best pedagogical practices for working with adolescent students and developments in mathematics, science, and learning support. ? Assist in forwarding the school’s commitment to becoming an anti-racist institution and serve as a role model to promote a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment. ? Understand and set appropriate boundaries in working with adolescent students. ? Use technology where appropriate as a vehicle to enhance instruction and student learning. ? Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress. ? Work independently with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities ? In coordination with the Director of the Learning Center, work with students in small groups during pre-determined hours within the academic day (8:00 a.m.–3:15 p.m.). ? Attend Learning Center team meetings weekly. ? Consult with the Learning Center team on student accommodations and support plans.
Education & Experience ? 3+ years of teaching or learning support experience preferred. ? Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
