Buffalo Seminary 2025–2026 School Year Opening for a Spanish Teacher Spanish Teacher – Introductory through Advanced Spanish (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Buffalo Seminary seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join our world languages faculty and contribute to a program that inspires young women to become confident and proficient global communicators. This position includes teaching Spanish to students in grades 9–12, across Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, as well as participating in the planning and travel for the school’s annual spring trip to a Spanish-speaking country.
We are looking for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings expertise in immersive language instruction, and shares a deep passion for empowering girls to engage meaningfully with the Spanish language and cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach multiple sections of Spanish at various proficiency levels (Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced) to grades 9–12.
Create immersive, student-centered lessons that develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Incorporate authentic materials and cultural experiences into instruction.
Collaborate with department members to ensure curricular alignment and instructional excellence.
Assist in planning and potentially travel with students on the annual spring trip to a Spanish-speaking country.
Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
Participate actively in department meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
Three or more years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
Strong pedagogical foundation and commitment to immersive language instruction.
Passion for working in an educational environment designed for girls.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a vibrant school community.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
