Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the position of Associate Director or Director of Alumnae Relations (depending on experience). The individual in this position will be accountable for:
- building a strong and effective alumnae relations program and creating metrics to benchmark against other schools and growth of Dana Hall’s program
- managing and supporting alumnae across the country and around the world by both initiating contact and responding promptly to calls, emails and letters
- designing and executing, with collaboration from the Senior Director of Advancement Services, Events and Engagement, the annual alumnae reunions
- planning, designing and executing a strategic program of regional alumnae events, including setting goals for each event and tracking achievement toward those goals; traveling for alumnae events as needed
- recruiting, training and managing the Alumnae Council, class correspondents, and other alumnae volunteers
- creating and publishing the monthly alumnae newsletter with assistance from the Associate Director of Communications, gathering and publishing class notes for the Bulletin, updating information in the database gleaned from the class notes, and managing alumnae posts on social media
- collaborating with the Senior Director of Advancement Services, Events and Engagement in recruiting alumnae speakers for the bi-annual signature event She Sails
- overseeing the STAR (Students and Alumnae Relations) Club and student traditions that relate to alumnae relations and soliciting the senior class for their Dana Fund gift, as well as educating students about their important role as alumnae
- working with division directors to recommend and recruit alumnae for student programs and events and Archives/Library to identify photos, find alumnae authors, coordinate reunion class visits, etc.
- recommending to appropriate Advancement Office staff those alumnae who should receive special visits and solicitations.
This is a twelve-month, full-time position reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Services, Events and Engagement.
Dana Hall seeks candidates who will contribute to and are committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices.
Candidates must have: a bachelor’s degree; previous fundraising and/or donor management work experience; technical knowledge of data management systems and processes; experience with relevant Blackbaud solutions preferred, such as Raiser’s Edge/NXT and Online Express; knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
Successful candidates will possess: excellent problem-solving, technology, and customer service skills; superior time-management skills with an ability to manage many tasks and projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality work products; excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and an ability to create effective action plans to meet goals; effective communication skills, both orally and in writing to maintain open communication channels with relevant stakeholders; an ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with utmost discretion.
