Job Summary
We are seeking candidates for the full-time position of Lower School (Kindergarten) Homeroom Teacher starting in August, 2023. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Employer-sponsored health insurance and a 403B retirement plan are offered.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Kindergarten students in the core areas of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. This teacher will collaborate with other Lower School teachers and special area teachers in support of student learning across the curriculum. They will also play a significant role in the social/emotional development of students. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to connect with students in creating a healthy and supportive classroom community. They will also be skilled in meeting the needs of diverse learners and crafting developmentally appropriate lessons across the curriculum
Desirable Characteristics
A bachelor’s degree in education, a specific subject area, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and/or previous independent school experience.
