The Assistant Director of Admission is a member of a team dedicated to the recruitment and enrollment of students who are best served by Emma Willards School’s mission. The position is responsible for developing positive relationships with prospective students and families throughout the admissions process. The Assistant Director will also support admission event planning and attend admissions events off campus to promote the school.
We seek someone with expertise in navigating today’s changing and diverse landscape and will help the School promote and nurture diversity, equity, access and inclusion. The School encourages candidates from under-represented groups and individuals who have demonstrated experience with diverse populations who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages a recruitment territory that includes working closely with community organizations that support educational access to underrepresented groups.
- Interviews prospective students, reviews applications, and collaborates with access organizations to attract a diverse pool of qualified students.
- Develop positive relationships with prospective students and families and assist them from inquiry through enrollment
- Ensure the unique strengths of Emma’s academic and extracurricular programs are effectively communicated in oral, digital and print mediums by working closely with the Marketing and Communications team.
- Collaborate with the Event and Visit Manager to support all on campus event planning including working with student ambassadors
- Visit schools and attend school fairs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Admissions experience, preferably in a boarding school environment
- Expertise with SchoolAdmin or other admission databases
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive and collaborative spirit
- Creativity
- Experience in marketing and communications
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Interest in working with diverse populations
- Interest in working with high school aged students in an inclusive girls school environment
- Ability to travel to represent the school
