Widely known for its commitment to academic excellence, robust athletics, fine arts, and STEAM programs, there is an opportunity for a Science Teacher to join the passionate and talented faculty of Fayetteville Academy. This is a full-time position that begins immediately or with an optionable start date of January 3, 2024.
Position Expectations
Teachers at Fayetteville Academy enjoy a 4 or 5 course teaching schedule and an educational community that is committed to the pursuit of learning. The Middle and Upper School science core curriculum includes Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology/AP Biology, Chemistry/AP Chemistry, and offers electives in Anatomy, Astronomy, Physics/AP Physics, and Environmental Science. Depending on candidate strengths, flexibility to teach different courses as needed is preferred. This role includes maintaining lesson plans, assignments and lab work, progress reports, and grades.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Science. Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues is essential. Problem solving and critical thinking skills, a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and a desire to collaborate are also important for this position.
Fayetteville Academy actively seeks candidates who participate in the life of the school and possess strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration. They should be a self-directed individual who is solution-oriented, flexible, and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
Salary and Benefits
Full-time positions at Fayetteville Academy include a benefits package with health, dental, and eye insurance, along with a company match towards retirement. Salary is commensurate with experience.
