There is an opening for an Upper School Visual Arts Teacher at Fayetteville Academy. The position is full-time and will begin on August 8, 2023.
Position Expectations
Fayetteville Academy is hiring a visual arts teacher that is eager to join a passionate faculty. The Upper School visual arts curriculum is replete with numerous courses from 3D Sculpture to Ceramics, Advanced Studio Art, Independent Art, and Art Journaling, with the opportunity to expand to include AP Art and Design. This role includes keeping track of lesson plans, progress reports, and grades, as well as providing oversight and maintaining (ordering supplies, etc…) a vibrant visual arts studio.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in fine arts (master’s degree preferred). Three to five years of teaching experience in either middle or high school education is preferred, though candidates with a substantial record of professional achievement will be considered. Independent school experience is preferable. Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues is essential. Problem solving and critical thinking skills, a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and a desire to collaborate and champion visual arts are also important for this position.

They should be a self-directed individual who is solution-oriented, flexible, and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
