Position Summary: The Associate Director of Admissions is a key member of the admissions team, coordinating all aspects of guiding families through the admissions and enrollment process. While the majority of these responsibilities will be focused on Primary and Lower School admissions, support with Middle and Upper School admissions will be requested, as needed. This position also entails assistance in the administration of Financial Aid.
Essential Functions:
Ensures that all activities relating to Admissions are conducted in a manner reflective of the School’s Mission Statement.
Serves as the primary contact for prospective families considering our Primary and Lower Schools (ages 2 through Grade 5).
Assists with the planning and coordination of Admissions events.
Assists the Director of Admissions in reviewing and assessing all marketing materials including the GCS website.
Schedules and conducts personal tours for parents.
Coordinates student visits, greeting students upon arrival and closing the day.
Coordinates student assessments (3-4 Saturday mornings in January and February), and conducts one-on-one assessments, as needed, during the week.
Responds promptly and courteously to parent phone and email correspondences.
Works collaboratively with school staff to manage admission activities and render admission decisions.
Effectively utilizes Blackbaud’s Enrollment Management platform to manage records and data, and to coordinate the steps of the admissions process within established deadlines.
Manages the completion of annual reporting in the fall to the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS).
Handles a variety of admissions office tasks including the issuance of enrollment addendums, mailing of birthday cards to admissions candidates, assigning students to “Glens and Elgs” teams, coordinating parent volunteers for admissions events.
Provides guidance to new families as needed.
Seeks opportunities for continued professional development relating to best practices.
An understanding of academic and developmental readiness skills for children ages two through eleven.

Compensation Range: $60,000 – $75,000. GCS offers a robust benefits package including health insurances, retirement plan, and generous leave and holidays.
