We’re hiring an Assistant Football Coach for the Harvard-Westlake High School football team, who will be a key member of the coaching staff responsible for developing and implementing the offensive strategy. This individual will work closely with the Head Coach to create a dynamic and effective offensive game plan, focusing on player development, strategic play calling, and fostering a positive and competitive team culture.
As the Assistant Football Coach, you will:
Teach P.E. classes year-round at the Middle School
Create an inclusive and supportive environment where every player feels valued and respected that encourages teamwork and discourages cliques or exclusionary behavior
Collaborate with other coaches to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated team approach
General coaching responsibilities such as but not limited to film study and scouting’ practice preparation’ promotion and marketing’ youth presence’ and program development
Game Planning:
Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the team's overall goals
Analyze opposing teams to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for offensive success
Create and implement effective practice plans to refine offensive skills and execute game plans.
Player Development:
Provide individualized coaching to players.
Focus on skill development, proper technique, and overall improvement of players' football IQ.
Ensure that players have a thorough understanding of the playbook through effective communication and practice sessions.

We are an independent school consisting of two campuses located in Los Angeles, California. We have approximately 1,600 curious, thoughtful, and inspiring students enrolled in grades seven through twelve. The Upper School campus enrolls approximately 875 students in grades ten through twelve, more than half of whom are students of color.

Compensation: Anticipated base compensation is $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience. This is a full-time position that will begin as soon as possible.
