THE POSITION
Hawken School is seeking a professional, thoughtful, and caring individual for a part-time position working with toddlers (18 months–3 years). This extended day support role requires up to 15 hours per week (3 hours per weekday), for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working in an after-school environment with our youngest students.
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide respectful and responsive care for students’ needs including diapering, serving snacks, nurturing, and supervising play
Support a healthy, engaging community of students and adults
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and practice diligent supervision of children
Maintain accurate records of children checking in and signing out
Engage with parents and guardians picking up their children

QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or a field related to child development, ispreferred but not required.
A joyful enthusiasm for toddler learners
Demonstrated competence with young children
An understanding of the developmental needs of children ages 18 months–3 years
Flexibility, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor
Eagerness to bring new ideas to enhance the program
