Hebron Academy is seeking a compassionate and caring Registered Nurse to manage our Student Health Center. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in working with middle and high school students at a residential school with a collaborative and supportive community. The Director is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and monitoring of our Health Center operations, while collaborating with a team of nurses to provide direct care to students. Overall responsibilities include planning and implement of policies and procedures, coordinating student care including communication with faculty, families and external partners, managing contractual agreements with external specialists and physician partners, ensuring staff training and support, serving as a liaison with faculty and administrators, and all other administrative duties necessary to ensure a high quality provision of health services and support.

What would you do?
Your most important duties are to lead the Health Center in the following areas, with the following responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Plan and implement policies and procedures related to all aspects of student healthcare
Ensure adherence to applicable state and federal law relative to the provision of healthcare services, including providing on-going training necessary to meet requirements
Develop daily and on-call schedules for staff coverage
Develop on-call coverage for physician partners
Ensure the maintenance of adequate records relative to the provision of health care services
Ensure the management of Magnus EMR (Electronic Medical Records), including requirements for students
Collaborate with school mental health counselors, assisting them in administrative areas as well as student care as necessary
Coordinate healthcare with outside contracted specialists and medical directors
Collaborate with faculty and staff in coordinating care of students
Manage health care provider contracts, including renewal and billing
Manage outside provider appointments, including transportation and insurance
Communicate with student families on coordinating care and meeting health care requirements
Represent the Health Center at meetings
Ensure the maintenance of adequate and appropriate supplies for the Health Center
Develop and maintain annual budget
CLINICAL:
Plan and implement COVID, strep throat, toxicology, and other testing
Plan and implement vaccination clinics for students
Plan and deliver day-to-day and long-term health care for students
Oversee medication management, including inventory, delivery, and administration to affected students as well as medication administered by dorm faculty
Manage in house clinical appointments with school physicians
Oversee clinical staff with delivery of health care
Coordinate care with athletic trainer
Give direct student care as needed
On call coverage rotation and as required
EDUCATIONAL:
Manage and implement training opportunities for teaching & non-teaching faculty
Support educational outreach initiatives for students
SUPERVISION:
Supervise a team of Health Center nurses and mental health counselors

Qualifications:
Unrestricted Maine RN Licensure
BLS certified
Experience in pediatric or adult critical care
Preferred previous experience in school setting, with preference given to a boarding school setting
