Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to lead our Kindergarten through 7th Grade Art program. An ideal candidate has experience creating a curriculum that is engaging and developmentally appropriate. This individual is a key team member of the Fine Arts Department and coordinates art events, gallery shows, and proactively seeks different venues both within and outside of our community to showcase the talents of our youngest learners.
This position reports to the Head of the Lower School and collaborates closely with all of the faculty and staff cross-divisionally. As a full-time employee, the position offers a robust array of benefits, including healthcare, dental, vision, life and disability, and a generous retirement benefit.
Art Teacher
We are seeking an energetic, experienced visual art educator who is capable of collaborating with colleagues to develop an interdisciplinary and art historical approach to art education. The successful candidate possesses a true passion for developing a love of art in students and understands artistic development from early elementary learners all the way to middle school artists. Ultimately, the goal is to set up each age group for artistic success.
A strong foundation in art history and experience working in a variety of media is paramount to the success of this candidate. The individual will be responsible for teaching drawing, painting, and 3-dimensional studio arts. The individual will collaborate in planning, curating, and hanging the school’s art gallery.
