Milwaukee Montessori School (MMS) is a nationally recognized private Montessori school located next to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Our Work Environment
Small & Close-Knit: Our administrative team consists of four school administrators, two administrative assistants, one front desk receptionist and two business office staff members.
Collaborative: We pitch in and help across departments as needed.

Year-Round: This position is full-time and requires working 12 months per year.
What You’ll Do
As a Front Desk Receptionist, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Greeting visitors, determining their needs, and directing them appropriately.
Providing courteous and professional support to parents, staff, students, and visitors.
Answering phones and emails, managing door access, and responding to inquiries.
Staying informed about school events, policies, and daily operations.
Preparing and sending correspondence for administrators.
Processing and ensuring the proper receipt of payments collected at the front desk.
Managing office machines and phone systems.
Proofreading and ensuring accuracy in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
What You Bring to the Role
A high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of experience in reception, clerical, or administrative work.
A professional attitude and appearance, with strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new software.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work 8-hour shifts, alternating between 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM and 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The ability to remain composed, poised, and professional in all interactions, even in challenging situations.
The ability to read and follow written instructions carefully and take initiative to seek out answers or procedures independently.
A friendly and adaptable nature—comfortable working around both children and dogs in the office.
