Newtown Friends School is seeking a caring, collaborative, and enthusiastic Pre-K Associate Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood team. The ideal candidate will support the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of our youngest learners.
The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily classroom routines and help manage the classroom. This includes assisting with whole group and small group activities, preparing classroom materials, and supporting students during indoor and outdoor play, snack, and rest times. Additionally, this role requires thoughtful communication with children, colleagues, and families, as well as participation in faculty meetings and professional development.
Candidates should have experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting and a strong understanding of child development. A warm, patient, and joyful approach to teaching is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Candidates should be ready to engage in helping the school to achieve its goal of being an anti-racist institution with broad DEIJB goals. Familiarity with Quaker education is a plus.
