The Pinecrest STEAM Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging and rigorous STEAM instruction to our students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for STEAM education and a strong understanding of the principles of project-based learning. The STEAM Teacher will work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, and parents to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Pinecrest School is an award-winning, independent school located inside the beltway in Annandale, serving children ages 3 through sixth grade and offering summer camp. Pinecrest nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Pinecrest’s approach to STEAM education encourages students to explore their interests and develop their problem-solving skills. STEAM is a holistic learning platform designed to help kids take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace and enjoy collaboration, and work through the creative process while learning from their mistakes and failures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver STEAM-aligned lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners.
• Facilitate project-based learning experiences that engage students in real-world problem-solving.
• Use technology to enhance STEAM instruction and assessment.
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to support STEAM education.
• Stay up-to-date on current STEAM research and best practices.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications (Preferred):

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Teaching certificate and/or experience in elementary education.
• Strong understanding of STEAM concepts and principles.
• Experience with project-based learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for STEAM education.
