Prep Academy Summer 2023 ISEE Prep Teacher
REACH Prep is currently seeking an experienced independent school educator to teach ISEE test prep to rising fifth graders at its Summer Prep Academy located at The Greenwich Country Day School beginning June 2023. As members of our hardworking team of teachers and administrators, Prep Academy faculty prepares highly talented and motivated students for entry into independent schools and, ultimately, matriculation to and graduation from college. This role is suited for someone who cares deeply about education and wants to make a tangible and positive difference in the lives of children. The Summer ISEE Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects, including the following:
Responsibilities
- Ability to teach mathematics and language arts skills and content covered on the Independent School Entrance Exam
- Conduct two sections of ISEE test prep courses for rising fifth-grade students, including planning, assessment, and reporting at the mid-point and end of the six-week program
- Support students during designated office hours
- Communication with parents, students, and colleagues
- Engage in weekly program-wide faculty meetings, prepared to discuss all students
Qualifications & Eligibility:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; teaching credential preferred
- Experience teaching upper elementary math and language arts
- Relevant experience teaching and assessing student learning
- Familiarity with Test Innovators, ISEE, or ERB preferred but not required
- Strong preference is given to currently employed teachers at an independent/private school
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Personal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children: must be energetic, creative, flexible, patient, and have a sense of humor
Schedule: June 24 - August 3, 2023, Monday to Friday, with two Pre-Prep Academy sessions on Saturday, June 10, and Saturday, June 24.
